Biochar

During the pyrolysis of the biomass, a part is converted to biochar. By using the Pyroflash or the PyroGasifier technology roughly 10% of the biomass is converted to this product. This product can directly be used as an end product.

The biochar can also be further processed into powder or pellets.

Producing biochar is considered a Negative Emissions Technology (NET). The IPCC stated the world would need to rely significantly on these techniques to avoid increasing Earth’s temperatures above 1.5 degrees Celsius, or 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, compared to pre-industrial levels.
